Abstract
In the coming decade, Vietnam’s oil and gas industry will enter a new phase where decommissioning activities would need to be gradually executed in parallel with E&P activities on the continental shelf of Vietnam. The article gives an overview of decommissioning cost estimation in Vietnam and some other countries in the world. Therein, it is expected to help envisage budget items, related supply and demand elements, and initial work breakdown structures for future decommissioning and facilitate the management of decommissioning activities of Vietnam’s oil and gas projects in the years to come.
