Abstract

Polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) drill bit has been used at the Vietsovpetro Joint Venture since 1994. Since then, the PDC drill bit structures have been continuously investigated, tested, and modified to improve the drilling efficiency. This paper provides an overview of the research, development, and application of PDC drilling technology, while emphasizing the crucial role of improving drill bit structures to enhance performance of drilling through Tertiary Sediments of Bach Ho and Rong fields.
