Application of “Parasqueeze” technology to prevent formation of asphaltic-resinous-paraffin deposits in production wells
Abstract
“Parasqueeze” technology is studied and applied to prevent formation of asphaltic-resinous-paraffin (ARP) deposits in well tubing by squeezing chemical inhibitors through the reservoir after dewaxing (by steam or pumping hot oil, etc). The chemical inhibitors are used to improve the rheological characteristics of oil and gas-oil mixtures by reducing the oil pour point temperature, viscosity and yield stress for better flow ability of crude oil. This is beneficial for transportation of produced oil to the production surface equipment, the collector system, oil treatment unit and/or storage tanker as well as for prevention of wax deposition on the production tubing walls. The paper presents the results of experimental Parasqueeze technology application in two gas lift wells of Vietsovpetro Joint Venture with the coefficient of success being 100%.
