To maintain and increase production output, priority has been given to apply geological and technical measures such as drilling new production wells (infill wells, sidetrack wells), water shutoff, interval perforation change, hydraulic fracturing, near wellbore hydrochloric acid treatment, upstream/downstream transitions - recumbent horizons, perforation, initiation and shooting. During the 2015 - 2018 period, in the main fields of Cuu Long basin, the number of wells having GTM conducted was comparatively large, accounting for about 10% - 15% of the production wells. In this paper, the authors established standard evaluation procedure for infill/sidetrack well plans, and conducted trial application of the procedure to appraise new well drilling plan in Bach Ho field.
