Risk management models at national oil companies in Southeast asia and some recommendations for Petrovietnam
Abstract
Oil and gas is a sector that faces many potential risk factors, from geological, engineering, production, to geopolitical, finance, and market risks. Most oil and gas companies in the world have, therefore, established and applied enterprise risk management systems in accordance with international standards, along with the application of specialised risk management softwares to assist in data gathering and risk reporting. This article briefly introduces the enterprise risk management models at Petronas, PTT và Pertamina, based on which makes recommendations on building a risk management system for Petrovietnam in the coming period to ensure timely detection and effective monitoring and management of risks.
