Downstream organisation model of some national oil and gas companies in Southeast Asia and experiences for PVN
Abstract
The petroleum downstream sector has been facing many challenges affecting the entire value chain such as price volatility, falling refining margins, increasing competition, tighter quality requirements, high investment capital and renewable energy sources. Downstream players therefore need to reform their organisations to suit the new context. This paper describes the organisation of the downstream sector of three national oil and gas companies, namely PTT, Pertamina and Petronas, thereby drawing experiences and lessons for the organisation of the downstream sector of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN).
