Study of experimental model to determine optimal conditions for water separation from crude oil using microwave radiation technology
Abstract
The authors established three water/oil emulsions from crude oil in Miocene, Upper and Lower Oligocene of Bach Ho field with an oil-water ratio of 60:40, using Span 80 as an emulsifier, concentration of 500 ppm. The study has used the software for statistical design and analysis of experiments (Modde 5.0) to optimise the conditions for separating water from water/oil emulsions by microwave radiation technology. The results show that the percentage of residual water in crude oil is not higher than 0.5% under the optimal conditions.
