Research on rheological properties of crude oil from Bach Ho and Rong oil fields for transportation in submarine pipelines
Abstract
Oil produced from the oil felds of Vietsovpetro Joint Venture has complex physical and chemical properties with high viscosity, high pour point and high parafn content. Many comprehensive researches have been systematically conducted by Vietsovpetro’s scientists and engineers to study the characteristics of parafnic oil and successfully build a rheological property model for oil produced from Bach Ho and Rong oil felds. Based on the results of these researches, Vietsovpetro has step by step developed its own technology for gathering, treatment and safe transportation of crude oil produced at its oil felds through submarine pipelines, ensuring constant and efcient production of oil and gas. This article focuses on summarising the results of the rheological research on parafnic oil from Vietsovpetro’s oil felds.
